Do not forget where you came from.

Top down approach passed the bill because the country is hurting and even a a piece of crap republicans knows better than to get in the way of relieve for the common man. Reality is that Obama did not use the tactics that got him elected, direct contact with we the people as far as stumping for the program and going local for support. It passed the Senate with 61 votes but wiithout loss of any key issues or additional Welfare for the Rich he could have went local into certain Republican states and stumped for the Bill and forced those Repubs into doing the right thing and voting for it.

Obama lamented if that if he knew beforer the bills passage what he knew after the Senate approval he would not have included any tax cuts understanding he could add it as part of a compromise and get the correct amount that he wanted in the first place!!! An amount that actually might help instead of a rhetoric centerpiece. Rhetoric cannot be spread on light bread like jam and consumed nor is it a natural resource that can be used to produce a product useful to modern man

av,

don't get in a hurry my friend. China and Japan must first sign-off on the debt and the treasury's printing presses must first be reloaded with massive amounts of ink to print additional currency before you get that check. pvc is pointing out to all of us we will be well into the worm food stage by the time posterity must pay for this mess. ergo who cares about the consequences.  how did that old hippie song from the 60's go...."1 2 3 4 na na na na na live for today." good old jimmy carter inflation is back. soros and buffett are going to make a killing off of this one in the currency markets.

Quote
"When it comes to how we approach the issue of fiscal responsibility, again, it's a little hard for me to take criticism from folks, about this recovery package, after they presided over a doubling of the national debt. I'm not sure they have a lot of credibility when it comes to fiscal responsibility.... [W]hen I hear people just saying we don't need to do anything; this is a spending bill, not a stimulus bill, without acknowledging that by definition part of any stimulus package would include spending -- that's the point -- then what I get a sense of is that there is some ideological blockage there that needs to be cleared up."

The point is that the Tax cuts of the past has been spent on things that ARE NOT HELPFUL TOWARDS THE BEST INTEREST OF AMERICA.

If you are going to spend money to jumpstart America's economy how about spending it in a way that actually helps solve some of its MAJOR PROBLEMS such as rebuilding neglected infrastructure because the modern 40 something American voted to neglect the upkeep of American infrastructure to spend its last Tax Cut on a damn foreign made SUV that guzzled gas that we had to import from an Arab country that sent excess profit to Al Kaeda. That we funded a bungled war effort in Iraq and bought foreign made bullets from Sweden and Norway. What amazes me is that the typical 40 something is looking around wondering what happened to the American economy and does not see the relationship between exporting jobs overseas and the weakening of the US economy.

Ok, Plumber, I have a challenge for you:

Name ONE provision in that 700 page, $trillion dollar POS, a bill that my effing great-grandkids will still be paying for when their kids retire, that will create a SINGLE private-sector job this year.

ONE.

Wall Street (you know, the people who can ACTUALLY stimulate the economy) has voted:

Can we recall this  before he turns this country into a third-world communist hellhole?

Unfortunately, no.

Not to worry, though, it only took the Russians seventy years and 100 million dead to get rid of their Communist overlords, and the SOBs STILL keep showing up.
