For some:

Quote
Q: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae -- in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn't really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

"particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of," WHAT!?!

So here we have an example of what ABORTIONS true intentions are/were for some people that supported/support it....

If that population that needed to be controlled was the population MOST in need ot welfare and Government AID, just what population is she talking about here.... The poor people, the black people? Is this classism or racism...or both?

Since ROE V WADE one in every FOUR Black American's concieved have been murdered by abortion... Abortion clinics are mostly built and run in or near black communities.... Margaret Sanger through Planned Parenthood, advocated abortions on Afro-Americans in order to eliminate what she called "socially undesirable people".

I see merit in your argument. For years the minority population did not use the abortion services. In the last 10 years the trend has been for the minority population to get abortions. When I was young (HS in the mid 70's ) population control and zero growth was the big talk. The Pill and abortion slowed down the birth rate and I have no doubt that The intelligentsia all over the world saw both as tools to attain the goal. Less people less resource to share that would in turn improve the lot of man blah blah.

Flummoxed Lummox will never be pregnant, so his opinion on abortion is null and void.

100% of aborted babies are intentionally targeted for murder, and whether I am a man or a woman, a Christian or an atheist, that fact will never change.

Show me where abortion is a religious and NOT a political debate! If that was so why do you liberals object to the so called "PRO-LIFE" Judges? Fact is 99.9% of my arguments against abortion are political and scientific. Just as YOUR main reason for supporting KILLING babies is based on YOUR FAITH.

LOL look who's talking.

Flummoxed Lummox and I were breaking out of the local menatl institution, we made our way to the top, when we noticed a big gap between our roof and the building next door, I jumped across and made it but FL was afaraid to jump,  thinking fast I made a plan. "FL I got it, I will shine my flashlight across and you can walk across on the beam."
"Good plan." he said, but before making his attempt he paused. "Wait a minute, I may be crazy but I'm not stupid. You are trying to get rid of me, I would get half way across and YOU would turn off the light!"

Another Poll Shows Majority of Women Pro-Life

by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
September 2, 2003

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Despite claims to the contrary by the media and pro-abortion groups, the second poll in the last three months has confirmed that a majority of women are pro-life.

When the national crisis pregnancy organization Care Net wanted a poll on women's views about ultrasound legislation in Congress, they also asked their pollsters to also survey women's attitudes on abortion.

The results the polling firm found were not what it had expected.

In 2001, when The Polling Company asked female registered voters to describe their views regarding abortion, a slight plurality (48% vs. 43% pro-life) indicated they supported abortion.

Only two years later, a majority of women are pro-life.

In their latest poll, 54 percent of women selected one of three different pro-life views opposing all or almost all abortions. Only 39 percent backed abortion.

The results are similar to those found in a poll conducted by a pro-abortion group earlier this year.

In June, the Center for the Advancement of Women released the results of a poll showing that 51 percent of women took a pro-life position. Their poll also found that keeping abortion legal was the next to last most important priority for women as compared with other public policy issues.

Jennifer Bingham of the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group that works to elect pro-life women to public office, tells LifeNews.com the media has painted a false impression that a majority of women support abortion.

"Poll after poll is showing that more and more American women are classifying themselves as pro-life," Bingham said. "After 30 years of the message that 'choice' means a women's right to choose an abortion -- women are finally expressing choice as the right to have a child."

In the new poll from the Polling Company, Republican women were more likely than Democrats (68% vs. 43%) to identify themselves as "pro-life." A majority (57%) of self-identified Independent women also take a "pro-life" stance.

Hispanic women were more likely to be pro-life, and some 63 percent said they opposed all or most abortions. Married women (59%) were also more likely to be pro-life.

Women's views on abortions also varied by region.

The New England and Pacific regions emerged as the least pro-life (33% and 41% respectively), whereas the Mountain and East South Central regions (65% and 71% pro-life, respectively) were most opposed to abortion.

Remarkably, 18-24 year olds (63%) were the most pro-life of any age group other than 65-74 year olds (65% pro-life), and 25-34 year olds were the only group that was not a majority pro-life.

I know it doesnt matter if more people are for or against something....but the fact is MORE women than men are PRO-LIFE, and MORE men than women are pro-choice. If we were to believe as liberals do that the majority or concensu view was the right vier, and as FL says MEN have no say in the debate, then the fact that MOST women are pro-life, should and would end it. The fact is this is only true when the outcome is in favor of what liberals want.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x259434

23% of ANTI-ABORTION LEADERS are women, yet some people would rather they not be allowed to express their opinions or fight for what they believe in. Most women are pro-life, yet because pro life leaders are mostly men, some sexist idiots think that makes a difference, 100% of them can be Fathers, Brothers, Friends, and Sons...100% of them born after Roe v Wade (and most before) could have been aborted, so yes abortion affects us all, and EVERYONE has a right and a duty to see that it ends.

FL, you are a skillful debater, you eviscerate my opinions with wit and charm and show how I am wrong with your ability to bring facts and logic to the table, thank you for elevating the conversation to a level of respectful honest exchange of ideas. Remind me never to match wits with you again. Boy you sure showed me.
