Sources: Family Values GOPer Was At Gay Club Before Drunk Driving Arrest

A California Republican family values legislator who was arrested early Wednesday morning for drunk driving had recently left a gay club, sources tell a local news channel.

State senator Roy Ashburn was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday at 2am in Sacramento, after police saw the car he was driving swerving erratically. An unidentified male passenger was in the car with Ashburn.

The sources told CBS13 that Ashburn, a father of four, had that night been at Faces, which touts itself as "Sacramento's premier GLBTI Nightclub since 1985."

Ashburn was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than .08 percent -- both misdemeanors. He was released from jail on $1400 bond.

Why is it that the wingnuts loons jump on every scandal involving a Democrat republican (and rightfully so I might add), yet are strangely silent when a Republican democrat is exposed for some evil?

I've always recognized that BOTH parties have scum. I've never tried to defend the actions of Dems repubs when they are caught. Wrong is wrong no matter which party you follow. However, the conservatives loons on this forum rarely, if ever, respond when there is a thread involving bad news about a Republican democrat.

Here is the big difference between Republican and Democrats.  When our leaders or representatives lie to us, we vote them out of office or stay home.  Hell Trent Lott was removed from leadership position for trying to give a friend a compliment at a birthday party.  If this guy is guilty as charge then I am sure he either won't seek reelection or he won't win.  See Tom Foley as an example.  Democrats on the other hand make excuses or blame Republicans.  Look at the Democratic treatment of Rangel and you will see no better example of the way the two parties treat those who violate the public trust.

So then you are completely irrational.  If he is a scumbag for having sexual relations with an intern then he should be impeached for lying under oath.  Having sexual relations with an intern is just two consenting adults...but lying as the chief executive of the nation charged with upholding the law doesn't merit anything.
