Greece practices the economic policies that NCVol praises on here...is this where we are heading?

NCVol:
Which economic policies?  The huge debt run up by Reagan, Bush and Bush?  The Wall Street debt instruments used to hide the debt levels?  That "you know Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter."  Those?

Yo Mamma:
are you better off now or 25 years ago??? Thanks for playing.

By the way, I am so proud of this country sending more on healthcare than any other. As the clip from You Tube shows us it is the compassion for illegals. It is also the advancements that do not come free. We have the breakthroughs and we let the other socialist country's gravy train. The libs should love that gravy train.  /Philly/

1. I, like many Americans, was better off 25 years ago. Thanks for asking.

25 years ago, the United States was the leader of the free world. Today, we are witnessing the collapse of a once great nation before our very eyes. China will very soon become what we were in the 20th century, the world's largest economic power and the country who dictates economic policy around the globe. They quite literally own us now. America's best days are behind us, not ahead whether you conservatives want to admit this or not. Our fall from grace won't happen overnight. But rest assured America is in decline. We lived like drunken sailors borrowing money to feed our greed and now it's time to pay the bill. We've shipped virtually every manufacturing job overseas so stockholders could reap more profits. Our economy has shifted from a manufacturing based to a service based one. We cannot continue to lead the world in GDP when the economy is more and more based on service industries and little is being produced.

The average American is in debt up to his and her nose because we all had to have houses we couldn't afford; gas guzzling cars we didn't needn't need; and every modern convenience to feed our insatiable desires to live in the present and not worry about tomorrow. And our government has shown time and time again it is incapable of reigning in spending, regardless of which party is in control.  We are the world's largest debtor nation (by far) and we simply cannot sustain the style of living most of us have been accustomed to do all our lives. The debt has to be paid sometime.

2. You're proud that we spend TWICE as much as any other Western country on health care and have less to show for it? We are the only Western country that has millions of its citizens uninsured, yet spend considerably more, and you're proud???

I'm pretty sure Bill Maher had you in mind when he said the following:

Bill Maher : most Americans are Dumb and Uneducated - And he is 110% right, as always :)
