Law to the proud, Grace to the humble.

Quote
Why Should We Pray – To whom do we pray?
There is only one supreme Creator and sovereign God. There is only one way to Him and that is through His only- Son, Jesus Christ. God, our Heavenly Father, is the only one we can be assured of who hears and answers our prayers. He is the God of amazing love, mercy, and forgiveness.

Hebrews 4:14-16 tells us we can pray boldly -- “That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him.

    * Pray acknowledging He is God, and that you accept His gracious gift, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior (Genesis 17:1, Romans 6:16-18).
    * Pray confessing our sins and accepting His forgiveness (Romans 3:23-26).
    * Pray that His will be done in our lives, that His Holy Spirit guide us, and that we be filled with the fullness of all God has for us.
    * Pray for (spiritual) understanding and wisdom (Proverbs 2:6-8, 3:5).
    * Pray with thanksgiving for all the ways He blesses us (Philippians 4:6. Pray when we are ill, lonely, going through trials or interceding for others (James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
    * Pray to worship Him (Psalm 95:6-7).

There are many reasons people do and should pray, the purpose however of this thread is mostly to call on one another to "Pray when we are ill, lonely, going through trials or interceding for others (James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)." In fact The bible tells us to come to GOD about everything we may desire, not that we will be granted prosperity here on earth, or that human possessions are important, but we acknowledge that without God's mercy and will, we would have nothing, and we could do nothing adn we need his help. So this thread is dedicated to those prayer requests where we have a need of God's mercy and will, and we desire others to share in the gift of coming before the Lord on our behalf, in Jesus' name, humbly and honestly asking for his blessings, help, grace, Love, and Mercy. Most importantly we can pray for salvation for those who are lost, and we want God to help us be a witness to them and help them come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ our Lord and our ONLY HOPE.

Well DM, you've got one year on me (I'm 38)! I feel that 30 was the birthday when the warranty ran out because that's when all my various problems started! 35 started a new set of problems. I'm kinda anxious about 40. Wonder what'll break then?

Oh yeah, forgot to add: I have scheduled the back surgery for Nov. 11th. I'll let you know how it went. Please keep me in your prayers, as I'll keep you in mine.

keep BTX and Xander in your prayers please...

You have the prayers coming your way from me. Perhaps I can try to throw a few posts up.

This is my prayer, that my work here glorifies the Lord, and serves to spread his word. Even if only one life is touched, if only one lost person is reached, or one saved person finds strength and support, it will be worth it, I will continue to strive for such. Please join me in this prayer, and I ask, before you post or respond to anything here you go to the Lord in prayer, and if you are not a believer you RESPECT the beliefs of others and show them the due respect and good nature you wish to receive.

Amen

Please pray that the Lord's will is done with regards to my current employment problem.

Also I want to praise the Name of Christ, My best friend my senior year of High school was a Jehovah's Witness, I have made contact with him after over 20 years and discovered that he is now a Christian, saved and sanctified...Lord I am so glad you saved my friend and thank you for every blessing you have given me in life. In Christ's name and for his Glory Amen.
