It is not exactly how Chartervol imagined it, but it looks damn good.

Actually the Neyland Statue looks similar and the Maxims as depicted are on the slate base.
The brick facade around the stadium blends well with the building up on "The Hill". My gripe with UT has always been that they never really had a theme for the buildings on campus and everything looked plastic and nothing blended. Well this actually looks like it belongs in a college setting. Hambone was all giggles as he met with the press and told of his hard work putting this all together. He said that only one Skybox was available and close to 70,000 season tickets were sold. Actually under the circumstances I think that is a darn good showing.

When you go to the game head over to the West side and look over the new facade and the Neyland Project, it does look good. Now if someone will put some damn brick on the TBA to cover up that damn sheet metal

The stadium looks awesome! There was so much work done behind the scenes that Hammy fails to acknowledge, instead, he puffs out his scrawny chest like HE was responsible.  So much more to the story but in typical UT fashion, they would rather play politics than actually give credit where credit is due. I will leave it at that.

I was fortunate enough to get a "tour" of the new look and I would like to thank those responsible for allowing me to be involved.

I think 70k season tickets is pretty good. I think the most they've had is around 78k. 15k for the students and about 10-12k for the opposing team and there's your capacity.

Plumber,

It looks nice--better than what Florida State had done for $100,000,000.  Thanks for your report and thanks for looking forward in Big Orange Country.

I agree about the Tide-Box style of architecture that ruled UT for 40-50 years.  Nothing wrong with a little trim here and there to spice things up and tie things together.

FSU does not have the coin or demand without Bowden. They are 15K down in season ticket sales. UT does not have the coin or demand without the Fulmer era. They are 10K down from last years down year in season ticket sales.

I can't wait to see the Neyland Project and all the other renovations as well.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it there until the Florida game.

Congrats to the whole gang that spearheaded the project.  It seems to be first class.  I remember Tony B talking about it with a caller back in the day (think it might have been Plumber) and thats pretty much how I found my way to SPS.

The statue is placed so that most of the time it will be open to the public but the gates can be closed if security becomes an issue *cough* Bama Week *cough*.  It's placement, IMHO, is even better than Charter and I envisioned as it is now the terminus of the Vol Walk.

Now, if we can just get that gawdawful CHRISTMAS TREE off the top of the Ayres Hall bell tower and get the Torchbearer's hand straightened out ...

Ah well ...

Dang Gus, you'd complain if we hung you with a new rope!!

Damn right I would because there in no stretch in a new rope.

Knowing how you enjoy giving me crap does not give you the right to try and get into my head to explain my thoughts.  My post was NOT a complaint but an observation and a belief that the General should have been out front.  After all he is the Father of the Tennessee program IMO.  I'm guessing many folks feel the same as I.

BTW you have failed to give me credit for completely ignoring the MORON'S threads lately.  That really hurts my feelings.

Have a lovely "Big Orange" weekend and GO VOLS....................
